Frequently Asked Questions
Can I open and close my door while the cover is attached?
As of August 2025, all covers come with pre-installed adjustable elastic straps that expand and contract with the garage door opener, eliminating any obstruction.
So now, installation is easier than ever.
Can I install the Garage Door Cover myself?
Of course! Installing a Garage Door Cover is easy.
No tools are required, and clear installation instructions are included in each package.
Or, you can follow our installation guide and choose your preferred installation method.
Simply clean the top of the garage door and iron the back of the cover on medium heat before installation.
I'm between sizes. What size should I choose?
If you’re between sizes, choose a smaller width for a comfortable fit without bunching, and a larger height (2-3 inches) so you can place the Velcro higher or on the top edge of the door.
What are the dimensions of a garage door cover?
Garage door covers fit standard residential garage doors, but specific dimensions vary depending on the door type. Our most common sizes are:
- 8×7: approximately 82x94cm
- 16×7: approximately 82x188cm
Each cover is intentionally made a bit smaller than the full door size toensure a snug, clean fit without overhang. There may be a small marginaround the edges, but the final look is bold, centered, and impressive.
Please note: minor size variations may occur depending on how the fabricis handled during measuring, as slight tension or looseness can affect theresult.
How long will it take to ship?
Does it work on roller garage doors that coil up like a paper roll?
Will The Velcro Damage My Door?
Our velcro is designed to come off cleanly if you heat it up first, using a hair dryer, to soften the adhesive and peel it off slowly. Remove any residue with Goo Gone.
However, if you want to keep Velcro hidden, try our ‘Hidden Velcro Method’– place it on the very top front face of the door (the part that tucks under the rubber seal when closed) so it’s out of sight, protected from the elements, and ready to reuse next time.
If your door was recently painted, wait until the paint is fully cured before applying Velcro.
